Neighborhood Status stays at RED!
At about 6:00PM two boys ages 14 &15 (good friends of a members children) were approached by two young adults ages 22 & unknown of the seconds age, at the piers located at the riverside just below Turning Point Park. The two adults (one hispanic male and one Caucasian male, both were riding mountain bikes) demanded that the youths hand over their valuables, at that point the 14 year old youth was able to run away through the woods, although the 15 year old was not so fortunate. He was restrained by force with his hands held behind his back and his face pushed against the ground while the second adult went through his pockets taking $20 in cash. The 15 year old sustained minor scrapes and bruises (his birthday is on this day and the $20 was birthday money received from family). A JOB WELL DONE !!!! to Sean and Matt who were able to respond and search for these thieves, they played a vital role in the apprehension of one of the two suspects. A special Thanks to Mr. Iacchetta (One of Charlottes Finest Math Teachers) for volunteering his time in teaching Our children the skills
needed for playing the game and Lessons needed that apply to Life itself.
Also in Recognition to John Parsons (Team Goalie) who was seriously injured during the second to last game of the Year, while defending the goal John was accidentally kicked in the face causing his upper jaw to be broken with multiple lacerations to the face and some teeth lost. This Young man even upon being carried away on a stretcher was more concerned about letting the Team down than he was about his current physical condition. Thank You, John, for your contribution to the Team this season and Your Courage in handling some of lifes toughest and most unfortunate Lessons.
